Community Walk For Peace

March 19th marks the 5th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq

The Walk For Peace is a silent walk for peace that begins after the Speak-Out. The walk starts from the MLK Jr. Library and ends at the South Bay Islamic Association (SBIA). At 7pm at SBIA, there will be a brief breaking of bread ceremony and time for reflection.

The Tule Lake Pilgrimage is a four-day journey to the former site of the Tule Lake Segregation Center, located near the California-Oregon border. The program includes:
  • A bus tour of the former camp site location.
  • An evening of cultural performances.
  • Panel discussions with former internees and community activists.
  • A memorial service.
  • Intergenerational discussion groups.
  • Many community-building activities to learn the history of Tule Lake and its relevance to the present day.
